Got to rate it for what it is... I'm perfectly happy with my little trip.
No time this weekend to fish, had lots of chores. But managed a couple of hrs Sunday afternoon. Put in at Coulee City about 3:30.
Put the boat in at Coulee City.
Tried around goose island, nothing., tried 50-20 FOW. nothing.
Moved up the lake to the flat before the million dollar mile. 40 FOW, bang. I was certain at hook up I had a keeper. But then again you can't be to sure what you are pulling from the bottom of banks lake.
Only hit. Only fish. 19" keeper walleye.. ( replaced the one i cooked for my girlfriend over the weekend. )
I'd like to give a shout out and props to Big Wallys Guide Service. I love his reports, he really seems to like to share the details to the big fish. This said after I reviewed years past reports. I've burned a few of those reports to memory I will pull out later this fishing season. Thank you!
I can't really tell you much more about my trip. Dumb luck, dumb male took my worm and purple spinner, streamers all gone from the beating the undersized fish gave it last weekend. ( ok a few keepers ) Trolled around 1mph wind was mostly dead.
Saw a few schools on the bottom, but I don't trust my fish finder for much more than depth.
I feel good.. just a couple of hours of fishing on my new lic and one in the freezer.
