BEST DAY ON AMERICAN EVER, for us at least!! Caught 9 nice trout, largest about 14 inches, and none under 9 inches. All very healthy. Trolled in front of the VA hospital, and had a double right off the bat. Only got one in the boat, the largest of the day. At one point, soon as we got a fish in the boat, the next rod had a bite. Couldn't keep em off! Trolled with 4/0 dodgers, in all colors. Bait was worms, corn and maggots on a Macks Smile Blade rig. Hot colors were green and Pink!

DjButler, some of the best trout and kokanee fishing in the lake is right out of the boat launch. I'd say go ahead, but watch out if the wind is blowing, it can get a little choppy.

DjButler, I take my pontoon out on American all the time. I generally row ask and forth between the two islands near the state launch.
