Slept in and listen to the wind blow today. About 10am I figured I'd give it a try.
Launched at Steamboat, ran out to Barker Flats, way to windy. So I ducked back in behind Steamboat.
Picked up one perch.
The wind calmed and I hit some of the same water I fished yesterday. 35-40' same way points. Picked up another perch, and a few hits.
Ran into 30' water and picked up a fish, then nothing again. trolled out into 50' and started getting hits.
Sadly as a boated a near double the winds came racing in.
Met up with 2 nice Wardens at the ramp, they checked out my 16"1/4 closely. No need to lay tape to my 5 pound Walleye as I only had 2, but it did exceed the 22" slot.
I was happy with the day other than the wind. The bite seemed to be turning on as the wind did.
I was using worm, spinner and 2 ounce walker. Trolled around 1 MPH give or take with the wind.
I'm new to targeting Walleye, so todays fish was my biggest. Yesterday I got my 1st Burbot. So the weekend is a screaming success.
