It has been a while since I have been fishing, lost my fishing partner/father in January and really have not felt like hitting the water. I will put an urn and ashes in the boat so he will still be fishing with me. He will always be in my heart, was the best friend any person could deserve, and I will miss him tremendously.

Hit Potholes on Sunday for a couple hours in the afternoon after my daughter, India, prodded me to get out of the house. Caught 9 walleye and one perch on slow death rigs with a gold smile blade and 1oz bottom walkers. Put a small pill float in orange, chartreuse, and black on the rig with a couple UV beads. My daughter caught the first fish, biggest fish, and the last fish. We were fishing in 40-50 feet of water, slow trolling at 0.7-0.9 MPH. The walleye were mostly dinks, only 3 keepers. All released to fight another day.

Put a new 80lb thrust bowmount on the boat to replace the 55lb that was a little too underpowered for the fishing barge. Worked great! Cannot wait to try out all the I-Pilot features and see how it all works. Will be putting it to the test next weekend at Chelan with my uncle and cousin chasing the kokes! Hope I can put them on some. Time to get back to fishing again, good therapy.

Just remember your fishing partner loved to fish with you. Honor his memory by doing that which you both enjoyed so much. Know it's not the same without him, but he's there with you when you go. Lost my dad almost 20yrs ago and I still miss him. Your daughter did good, fishing is great therapy. Sounds like you should make her your new fishing buddy. :-)

My condolences. No doubt he was with you and will be with you as you continue to fish and I'm sure it pleases him greatly that he was able to share this with you as you are sharing with your daughter. If she was in a pink jacket then we saw you both out there Sunday. A friend and I were in my 12' Hi-Laker just south of those hot spots and did about as well there as you did before we headed off to Goose Island. Take care.

Thank you all for your thoughts, great bunch of people. Daughter was wearing a pink sweater, we were in the yellow boat with the black top. Thank you all again and I will post a report on our Chelan excursion, getting excited to see my uncle catch some fish!
