Well we were dumb enough to go out and try fishing with the winds blowing at 25-30 mph. There 2-3 foot white caps on the potholes that made fishing interesting. We tried fishing in the main body of water but the swells were too big and boat control was very difficult. So we moved up into the Lind Coulee leg and the white caps were only about a foot. We threw out the sea anchor to slow our drift from the winds and it helped maintain boat control.
We trolled with 3 oz bottom bouncers and slow death hooks. We caught 2 walleye, one was 15" which we threw back and one was 18" which we kept. We only fished for 2 hours because it was difficult to tell if we had a fish on the line with the boat bouncing up and down. But we had a good time anyway and my 7 yr old enjoyed watching the para surfers out on the water.
