Went to Kellogg lake today, got there at 6 am,was to dark to fish so waited and finally got on the water around 6:40.Originally planned to do some bass fishing using 5" watermelon worm, after about 1 hour I had a bites in the middle of the channel connecting the small/big lake, that was about it for bass.

So I saw a lot of fish rising, went back to the truck, got my fly rod,and then the fun began, had a lot of missed hits, pulled out a pretty nice healthy cutt around 15 inches,Put up a great fight on 4lb line, just held it long enough to take a picture then released.this lake seems loaded with cutts!! Used a small green wolly bugger, then switched to a dry mosquito fly since there were a lot of them flying around and it worked great aswell. I'd give this a better rating if the weather wasn't so rainy/windy,overall a great clean lake to have some fun in.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite lakes, that actually doesn't always fish that well for me. But I love it because it is like you deep in the Atchfalaya basin, Lousianna. It's all swamp like.
The lower lake is loaded with panfish, etc.
Did you catch the cutts in the upper lake area, or mostly did you fish the lower lake?

Well the lower lake didn't produce that much,I caught the bigger cutt in the channel, pretty close to the beaver damn.i had more luck on the big lake near the shores.it seems like they were in the deeper lake mostly.there was a local there and told me that the lake was pretty low,so I'm guessing that's the reason most fish were deeper.
