Steve Ericsson fixed my big motor last week, put in my new fish finder, and made a new winch stand for the trailer. Thank you. Monday, Auburn Marine fixed the Yamaha kicker recall while I waited. Today, Tuesday, I thought I would go out and try everything on American Lake.
I launched at noon to the sound of machine gun fire. There was a lot of gunfire the 3 hours I was there. I started out in the northeast end of the lake and then trolled south. I was trying to learn how to make the fish finder work as well as trolling. I went from 22-92 feet of water. I trolled .92-1.7 mph at 9 foot to 46 feet deep.
I only had one bite on a Dick Nite 50/50 in front of a Mini Bloody Mary. My fish finder didn't see many fish. I am still trying to learn it. The water temp was 50 and went up to 52 then the wind came up and the temp went back to 50 when I left.
The big motor did fine and the kicker ran better. It was the first outing that something didn't go haywire…

Nice fish finder, the fish have been holing up in about 80 feet of water right on the bottom. You can tell they are kokanee
because they don't make traditional arches, more like long lines of spaghetti. They are mostly now on the northern part of the lake and in the deep hole in the northeast corner.

Toni, glad everthing worked out and the fix went well. What did you get a lowrance elite 5? Is it the chirp or the hdi? I just picked up on myself its the HDI model. I have never seen a color one is person so it will take some getting use to. Glad to see you back out there.
