The lake's water level is still about 5' below normal due to the hole in the dam and even the locals don't have any idea when it will be back to normal. The public boat launch is closed and the only place to launch is the "Silver lake resort". I launched a 16' boat with a 75 hp suzuki motar on it and with an ez loader trailer. It was not as bad as I thought but you do want to have 4wd. You have to launch right off of a mud flat about a hundred feet beyond the end of the ramp at the resort but the ground is surprisingly stable. The good news is the fishing is excellent. We got a late start and had unstable weather but still managed to land and release 4 3-5 lb largemouth and caught a slew of crappie. The fish are pretty well concentrated around the stumps and piling.
