Okay, not to beat a dead horse about perch fishing Lk Washington (2 reports I previously posted) but it is still going strong. No, the size has not changed ( still mainly 8 to 9 1/2 " with an occasional 12" brute) and the fish are still deep at 70 to 75 ft. We have been fishing about a mile east of the SeaHawk's training facility drop shotting right on the bottom. The key is to keep the bait no more than 12" off the bottom. We bait the hook with perch meat. The bonus this trip were the 4 eagles that battled to pick up the small perch we threw back. And if a seagull grabbed one - wow! The eagles chased them down until they dropped the perch. Then they would fight each other to snatch the floating perch. And here we are in the middle of Seattle!

Pictures show sink full of perch and brother, Pat, with the fillets - 3 qt bags this day.

Nice catch! What kind of set up do you use for drop shot fishing?

I use a 1 oz or 2 oz Point Wilson lure for the bottom weight. Big perch will grab this and I have caught my biggest perch on this set up. The drop shot hook above this is no more than 12" up the line. Go to You tube and look at the many ways to drop shot. You will get an idea from there what to do.

That would be Lake Boron by my calculation.

Whoops. I guess we can catch perch but got the direction screwed up. Here is the exact area. Follow the shoreline from the Hawks training camp toward the Mercer Is bridge for about a mile. You will see a 3 story house being built and go directly in front of that into 65 to 75 ft of water. You will see the bottom covered with perch if you have a good finder. They move around a lot so drift the area. One boat out there anchors and seems to do well that way. Go get em.

PTFletcher and myself went out in north Lake Wa yesterday in my boat, launched at Kenmore around 8AM. Spent most of the AM trolling for Cutts, around Juanita Bay and Hunts Pt area... no luck. Then tried two spots for Perch starting about 1PM or so, no luck there either. About 2PM we found some Perch also about 70FOW across from Arrowhead Pt and got 15 or so in an hour. Same size as yours. Prob could have got dozens if we would have started out at that spot right away. Drop shot worms.

Depending on the weather and if I'm working OT this weekend I may have to come thin those perch out some :)

Thanks for the report!
