Got on the lake at 8:00am. 3rd boat on the lake, and all of us had to break ice to get to our spots. The ice was about 1/8" to 1/4" thick and started deteriorating around noon. South of I-90 is completely frozen. MAYBE one day left of boat fishing, then we will all have to wait for the ice to thicken. We fished by the park and I-90 bridge. Absolutely great fishing, most between 11"-14". Just using worm and eyeballs off of the bottom a few cranks. Cold, but no wind at all. Everyone seemed to be pulling in fish, even from the I-90 bridge and some from the shore in the few open spots. Most of the fish we kept ended up being females loaded with eggs - bummer!

We (five of us) went up on Friday. The grandkids had a blast. We limited out in about 2 hours with fish from 11 to 14 inches. They had been feeding on small perch because they were spitting them out on the boat deck. The adults went back on Sunday and limited out in an hour and were able to get back and clean all the fish before half time of the Hawks Game. Talked to my brother, who lives there, and today(Monday) the ice was broken up but extremely windy out of the northeast.

We were using swedish pimples (color didn't seem to make a difference) with worm to start and changed to cut bait or perch eye to tip them after getting a couple of perch. I talked to my nephew who lives in Moses Lake and today (Jan 1) there is about 1 and 1/2 inch of ice where we were fishing. Probably not going to be enough for several days. Then the it is suppose to warm up to above freezing which is going to stop fishing there for a while.
