Well went out today to try my luck, arrived at 1 pm and started trolling in the 20-35ft range using two poles. I had a few drive by's and then the pole doubles over and its fish on. Took my time as this was a nice fish, the normal head shaking trying super hard to get off. I had just retied some new hooks with a stinger trebble hook so my heart was pounding thinking did I tie it right or not..well after a nice fight he made it into the net. He measured 17".

I reset the gear and headed around the lake. The lake was very calm and flat, had a few rain drops but nothing major. I found some nice balls of fish but did not hook anything out of them and I tried hard. I was using a clown dodger and a pink wiggle hotchie with some glow beads that I tied with two hooks. I did manage to hook into one more fish that was a nice size fish but when I went to grab the net it came off the hook. That fish bit the bloody mary by wanafishalure but it never made it into the net but got a nice look at it another nice koke.

I headed home at 4pm as it was getting dark and cold....will be back again soon.

Tight lines everyone!!

Eric

Still good! Thank you, I went out last Monday but couldn't get the boat off the trailer. It was frozen in place

Very nice fish! I'd take one or two of those over a stringer of 10" to 12" fish.

Toni - the trick to getting the boat off the bunks when they are frozen is to back the trailer into the water until the bunks are fully submerged and wait. It might take a couple of minutes but they will thaw.

Toni, now you know the super special secret to get the boat free....lol, but sorry you had to miss a chance at getting on the water. I was hoping for some chop as the fish seem to bite more then when its calm out. G-man your spot on there, the only thing is the wife likes trout so I once in a while I bring home a few to keep her happy. I am hoping saturday will have some sunshine and rain so I can make another trip.
