wanted to see if the kokanee gods would shine on me this morning before the Hawks game. started fishing about 830, finished by 11, caught 1 14' male Kokanee, showing a little rose on his cheeks, also picked up a smallish 'laker', and even a rainbow about 12". it was cold, a little rough, though i am happy with the outcome.

If that was in the lower basin then its probably next years fish. And at 14".... That gets me really excited for next spring!

Nice fish! Thanks for sharing and the report.
If you don't mind me asking,
How are you targeting the Kokanee?
Are you seeing the schools on the graph then going after them or what? What depth and speed are you finding them at?
Thanks for the report and info.

I am using standard trolling techniques for Kokanee using downrigger and Dodgers with a spinner and bait behind. There are depths I like to hit like 35, 45 and 55 feet etc. If I do see a school on the graph I usually quickly crank my offering into that area, and that is often successful. The schools are hard to find, and also seem to be even more tough to get back onto, a little different than in the Spring when the schools are much more plentiful. Maybe Side scan could help, but I do not have that tech.
