Hit Cda lake again yesterday with the packernut, trying to get to 200 pike caught and released on the year. We got 15 between the two of us. There were lots of fish in the 26-28" range with a couple around 23 or so. The biggest fish of the day looked to be a 30"er that shook off right beside the boat. It was nice to not have to unhook that one. The water felt warm to the touch but was not so pleasant shortly after removing your hands from it.
Fish were mostly caught on Big Hammer Swimbaits and soft plastic frogs, with one on an x rap.
They didn't start biting well till after 10am. They are still eating very agressively right now fattening up for winter. Slower presentations get the job done. Water temps were 45-46 degrees all day. Weeds are still in very good shape. You can dress for the weather, but keeping hands warm is difficult.
