Took my boys out to the lake fishing this morning. Beautiful day with lots of people out. We fished the NE side of the lake near the fishing pier. Fished with spinner and pink power bait. Action was slow for us but that was definitely not the case for the family next to us. They were using worm under bobber and action was none stop. Multiple double-hookups and sometimes fish grab the bait barely a second after the bobber hit the water. It was very entertaining to watch.
Both my boys were new to fishing but they managed to catch some fish. Very proud of them. However, we did came very very close to disaster. My boy's lines were tangled with each others. After I freed the lines my younger one recast without checking his surrounding. He hooked his spinner right on top of his brother's left eye. But God was looking out for us. The hook just barely holding on to the skin and I was able to get it off quickly without issue. Whew, disaster avoided. If it was 1/2 inch lower then I'm sure we will be at the emergency room right now. That was a close call.
