Great day!,used a 5 weight fly rod with a 4lb line to have some fun with the stocked trout,used a black sinking wolly bugger,kept the bigger fish,released about 15 or so,and on one of the casts I was pulling in and about 4 feet from shore I had a bite then my line starts going out,had to reel in my fly line and set the drag since I was running 4lb line,fought with the fish for about 15 min.,and luckily netted it in,it was 24inches(tape measure is in the pic:),and exactly 8 pounds!!,biggest trout I caught so far,all red meat,good fly line!!

Thanks!,there was another guy there,showed me a pic im of a 10 pound trout he caught there,there's a lot of big fish to be caught!

Beautiful fish! I've been doing pretty well at Tye using God's Tooth and Dick Nite spoons. I thought about trying my 5 weight with a sinking line from my PFD (Personal Fishing Device AKA Dave Scadden outlaw Fuzion DST). Next time I'll take the fly rod and both sinking and floating lines out, too!

Where can I get the Gods tooth lures/spoons?,never used them before,dick nites work awesome!but yea I love using the fly rod out there.i also tried out the pond close by lake tye in the neighborhood,it's just catch and release but there huge trout in there!,the smallest I caught was about 17 inches,if your in the area you should give it a try just for fun:)
