Spent 5 cold hours in the boat trying everything.
Brother-in-law caught a 17 inch brown in the bushes
in the north end of the lake on a brown and black caddis.
I never rose a fish,,
At a little after 9PM we arrived at the boat ramp only to have a fellow
fishing at the boat ramp announce that the Hex had arrived!
Sure, enough, there were 3-4 of the huge yellow brown mayflies
floating around in the boat ramp water. There was a cloud
of night hawks feeding in the area.We had not seen them over
the rest of the lake/
I saw no fish rising to the Hex... but , they have arrived.
I would expect the first decent warm evening should be
wild.
I had fished an Hex emerger and a Hex nymph in the north end
without any action.
