Fished from 4 PM to dark.
Very occational splashy rise during the day... usually along the shore in
the shade.
Picked up one small cut- throat on a midge pupa on a sinking line, wind
drifting.
The Hex hatch started about 9PM and lasted about 15 min...
My fishing partner "Wild Bill" was fishing an extended body dry fly. I
fished a yellow fuzzy nymph behind a
parachute type pattern...all Hex patterns.. I think they were all about
equally successful.
Lots of hits but only a few hookups. I wonder if they hit the mayfly and
then come back to get it.
Nice night of fishing, though the catching was a little slow. One boat
blocked the boat ramp for 20 min
while he took down his rods, cleaned out the boat, stowed the gear, tied
down the boat etc...
