This report is for both Friday and Saturday. Glenn and a couple of friends went out on Friday and limited out on walleyes, trolling worm harnesses was the most productive method. Perch were everywhere and the size is jumbo all around.
On Saturday I met Glenn at Mar Dons just before first light and we motored out to the dunes and began throwing blade baits with no luck. After just a couple of minutes we switched to trolling worm harnesses and spent the rest of the day working our way through tons of perch and small walleyes to catch a limit of nice 16-22 inch eyes. The color of our spinners didn't really seem to matter and we quickly switched to half a crawler to keep from just feeding the perch. 10-15' FOW was the most productive with our best fish coming off of the edges of the humps. I also drug an Erie dearie around with half a crawler and it was quite effective on the tops of the humps. The tally for the day was a limit of eyes and 37 jumbo perch. The high light of the day for me was when I hooked a 6 inch eye and nearly had it to the boat and 5 lb largemouth decided he wanted it. I almost had a twofer but couldn't get a hook into the largemouth from my spinner.
