With slacking action on the green river coho I decided to switch gear for some trout. Saw report (Stansjoy) about green lake yielding nice catch of trout and LMB, I decided to give it a try.
I arrived at the lake around noon, a bit late than I like. No one was around ( I guess I pick the worst time to fish). Saw a school of juvenile LMB by the pier as I walked on to it. I started with worm for about 20 minutes but no takers. Not one hit (I even walked back to where the LMB were and dangled the worm at their faces)! Now a 2nd angler joined me at the pier. I switched over to throwing spoons when I saw schools of trout swim by me. They like my spoons :-). They are good jumpers and were a lot of fun on light tackle. Lost first 4 that I hooked. They jumped and leaped and spit the hook. Between me and the other guy we probably lost 15 trout that way. Finally I was able to land 4. I released 2 that were below 10'' and kept 2 12 inchers. Lost a few more before I called it a day at 4:15.
