We could have had a fish fry today, but we caught and released 37 fish in total in just four hours.
Fished 11:30am-3:30pm and just about had the lake to ourselves except two passing kayakers and our friend Linda who jogged by on the shore. It was about 60 degrees, calm most of the time, cloudy with 62.4 water temps. It only rained on us lightly the last hour.
P. landed 10 and K. landed 10. K. got the only trout (a nice one that hit like a train), and the largest bass. I boated 17. WooHoo! After being low man on the pole last week I was vindicated.
P. provided soup, chili and clam chowder in cans we heated on the barbecue, and I brought homemade ranger cookies I baked. Between good food, weather, friends and fishing - one couldn't ask for a better day. Well...
maybe I could have caught the biggest fish, too.
