Too much work and no play kept us off the lake in late August and September we fished Minnesota instead, so it was good to be on the lake again. While a short trip, it was calm and overcast and just beautiful. Air temp was about 62 degrees and water temp 64 degrees. Was surprised the water temp was not lower. Speaking of lower, I don't think we've ever seen the lake this low. Took a count of the concrete ribs still underwater at the launch ramp and for the record there were only five more under water. All the others were exposed. Had to launch the boat and then walk down the road and climb in the boat from the rock wall by the roadway.

Fished 12:45-4pm. Thought we'd target rainbow and cutthroat but couldn't raise any. (Didn't use the downrigger but a regular said the Kokanees are there about 20' down but very slow to bite.) Early on had a small bass follow so after an hour plus decided to change to bass fishing. Had fun with small bass. K. boated 9 LMB (1 rather nice one), P boated 7 LMB, me a lowly 3 bass (1 decent one). We all lost 2-3 bass boat side so at least we had some fun and a nice hot soup lunch in the boat.

Let it be known that one should never step on an untested rock. Due to low water we had to exit the boat at the rock wall and K. decided to step out on a different rock that those used to get in. We all had a good laugh when the rock rolled and his foot went in the water. Luckily the rest of him didn't. Only a few more weeks left in the fishing season. Hope we get on the lake again soon.
