Decided to change things up today and headed to Sawyer after the kids got on the bus. Have not fished here since I was a teen. I'm in my 40's now so it's been a while. Was not sure where to start or what to expect. Had the lake almost all to ourselves. Was a little surprised my the blanket if weeds that covers the bottom to about 16-17 ft. Just about everywhere. Started out shallow but no luck there. Fishe the weed edges near the points. We caught a few most with the drop shot. Biggest was 2.11 lb. Really need to get out here and explore some more there are some pigs out here that we're busting the surface.

That looks like the 2lbder I got the other day. lol No hold it, mine was a Largie. :-)

Lots of big trout in the lake, those are usually the big ones busting the surface. Got one big rainbow today while dropshotting. 7 bass, Smallies and Largies, dropshoting for 2 1/2 hours today. 5 fishies yesterday for 2 hours on the lake. :-)

Ya, it's developed a lot over the past near 40 years that I've been fishing it, but the weed quality and amount/density, and water quality has dropped substantualy., as has the numbers of bigger fish. Use to be a quality Largie lake, now it's a mediocre Smallie lake. Still some big fish in there. But I still like to fish it. There where you wife caught her fish, a few days ago I caught a 1 pound Largie on a senko next to that platform. :-) Lots of fry/minnows in that area yesterday. Oh ya, the trout I caught today spit up a small minnow of some sort, whitish and about 1" long.
