Took a colleague from work who'd not fished since he was a kid, and we decided to go back up to Scooteney Reservoir (see my report from last weekend, when I went with the two masters). This trip, tried to do some more exploring some regions of the lake, and learn something more about it.
Between the two of us, we picked up five walleyes (biggest ~ 17"), probably 15-20 perch (biggest = 11"), a bluegill, and a couple of bass (decided to fish taco a couple). Picked up three of the walleyes using bottom walkers and perch-pattern rapala plugs in around 35' of water.
Wasn't super great, but steady. Could have been better, but like I noted, rather than hitting known spots, we too some time to explore.
Fair bit of [walleye] chop in the morning, calming down to near glass by 5:00 pm. Great day on the lake. Even better, the jet skiers stayed home (much to every fisherman's relief, no doubt....)
