I was on the lake about 7:30am and went to the south side midway by a buoy in 48 feet of water. I was still fishing. Another 2 boats came by and anchored. These are seasoned still fishers. One was the green drift boat. After an hour they had their limit and I had one fish. The green drift came over and gave me a little more chum and some moral support. He pointed out some bites I was having. Guess my eye to hand coordination today was not what it was yesterday. I had been using my Still-fishing spinner but I took it off since it seemed they were getting more hits than I was. I put it back on just after 9 and got bites. Between 9-10am I got the 4 fish I needed to make my limit. The other boats were talking about how they were losing some of the fish they hooked. I can say that I might not hook all the biters however I did get 100% of the hooked fish in the boat. When I first got there the fish seemed to be about 30 foot down but after 9am they were between 25 and 18 foot deep.
It was mostly cloudy with an occasional sun break. Once again the predicted rain was a no show. There was a slight breeze across the water.

Around noon I got a text from my sister in law wanting to know if I was working. No, I texted back. Her son had heard that there was a water rescue on Clear Lake. I left the launch about 10:30. I asked them to let me know if they heard anything further. Please leave a comment if you know what happened? I had just talked with the man, Triple Nickel, that I gave my red boat to. He had a 10 foot jon boat that needed some work. I was also talking with a kayaker that was trolling around me. I am hoping all is well even if wet!

Izorline on reels and lure.

I was the kayaker at Clear Lake yesterday, no rescue needed for me! I did manage a couple nice kokanee after I pulled my lures up from 30 to 25 feet right where you were fishing...thanks for the tips. The lot was pretty empty when I left around 11, I hope everyone was ok!

Yes Toni it was me Triple Nickel. I was a couple hundred yards from the launch heading in for the day. It wasn't my work responsible for the capsizing. It was my own stupidity as I was reaching for my rod and leaning over the side. The next thing I knew I was in the drink. I had the boat overloaded in the aft end battery, motor and gear plus me (dumb). I surprised myself and didn't panic. I hung on to the boat kicked off my boots and began yelling for help. The boat has floatation foam under the seats and that's what saved me until help arrived. There were two other fishermen in the area who came to my aide. One got me into his boat and the other towed my boat back to the launch where the 1st responders were waiting. I am okay just a little embarrassed. One thing for sure I will be looking for another boat with more freeboard yet small enough I can handle by myself without the use of a trailer. I will also be shopping for new tackle as I lost a lot of $ worth. I would like to again thank all who came to my rescue. Oh by the way wear those life jackets!
