Camping in the area and thought I would give this lake a try during the summer; without much luck. I've been fishing here a couple of times during the spring and fall after stocking and have caught some nice trout, but the summer is pretty darn slow for me no matter where I go. Spent a couple hours trolling around alternating between a rapala and a wedding ring in the evening with a friend and only caught one 12" rainbow. Gave it another try for a couple hours in the morning without any luck either. Saw a couple guys fishing the bottom from the dock and asked them how they were doing; they said they weren't having much luck either.
Not one of my better trips to the lake, but it was as I had expected being late summer. However, you can bet that I'll be back up there in another couple months once this lake has had its fall stocking.
NOTE: Regardless what time of year and whether the fishing is hot or cold, this is a beautiful lake. The shore isn't over crowded with houses and you have a wonderful view of the surrounding hills. Some of the prettiest sunsets I've seen have been while trolling this lake before dark. The boat launch is very easy access, right off of Hwy101, and there is a nice dock to fish from at the beginning of the public access.
