I have been having fuel issues with the boat, I took the family to tapps hoping I fixed the problem. I still had fuel issues so we fish the hump in front of the boat launch. Right away my daughter had one wrapped up in the trolling motor. It was fast and furious the rest is the time. My daughter's and wife were catching fish so fast, I couldn't tie up my own pole. We only fished for about 45 minutes, but I think they caught about 15. Most were dinks but the kids were having fun. They wanted to keep their biggest, which were both about 2 lbs. I always have my kids dip shot with number 4 circle hooks. They have pretty good catch ratios. They can even noise hook plastics now! Boat still ran crappy.

Piranha, I suspect your fuel issues relate to the ethanol fuel the gov forces us to use. I finally had the tanks in both of my boats drained out, cleaned out, and then refilled with ethanol free gas. That did the trick! The problem lies in the fact that ethanol gas attracts moisture (hygroscopic) and that even with the additives out there, you still get an accumulation of water in your fuel tank...even the portable tanks. Your carburetor then gets gummed up with the crap and nothing works right. Try it you won't be disappointed. You can located an ethanol free gas station by going to http://www.buyrealgas.com

Auburn has a station. I think it's named 'the fuel depot'. It's on C street at the curve north of 15th. Cash only, the last time I was there a few years ago.

That was the run after draining the tank. I pump the primer ball and it fires and runs strong for about 100 yards then bogs down, I can pump ball and keep going. I have checked filter also and have a new primer ball to put on. I decided to fish instead of work on it at the lake. It is a 94 evinrude 150. A new fuel pump is about $350 I think.

it doesn't sound like the fuel being a problem...is it a outboard? could be your carburetor needs to be adjusted or cleaned out as they do get gummed out quite often, Its not getting gas after you prime the carb by pumping the bulb....could also be your fuel pump. which is really easy to replace. Many other things as well but i would start with those two things...

sorry i just saw its an outboard 94 evinrude 150....yea i would definitely check the carburetor(s) and the fuel pump first...could also need to be link and synced as well to adjust the timing.

Run some gas with Sea Foam in it. Get Sea Foam at your local auto parts store.
