After hearing my buddy tell me that he had been catching 12
inch trout on a daily basis at the woodhouse loop ponds, I decided
Id go with him and give it a shot. I didn't even have my tackle
box with me, just a pole with a weight, treble hook, a 3 foot leader.
I put an old stale marshmallow and a worm on the hook and tossed it
in the pond. As soon as I reeled in my slack, I had a fish. That had
to have been the quickest strike id ever had (a nice 12 inch planter)
We arrived at the pond at about 5:30 and only stayed for an hour or
so because we only brought 4 worms. I caught 2 fish and had many
bites. My buddy got skunked bobbing with a worm, but he says he has
consistent success out there catching bass and every once in a while
a crappie. Overall, it seems like a good place to fish, I'm going
out there again tonight, I hope to see some of the same results,
maybe I will catch a big one.
