Headed to Lake Wenatchee and arrived at the launch at about 7:15am and there was only one boat ahead of us, so that started out the day on a positive note. We boated toward the northwest side of the lake and stopped below others boats working an area about a mile from the end of the lake. We ran our gear about twelve inches behind our dodgers. On one downrigger we used just two red hooks, and on the other we had two red beads between the hooks and two glow beads above with a small silver smiley blade. Fish were showing on the finder from 120 feet all the way up to the top, but we found the bite to be at 60 feet. We were fishing in 200 to 230 feet of water and trolling at one mph.

We started picking up fish from the start and quit just before 9 am with six fish in the cooler. Either setup seemed to work, but the plain red hooks got four out of the six fish. The bite was still going strong, but we decided that six fish were enough so we headed back to the dock. Going in early also worked out as there was only one boat launching when we got back, so we got out easily. All in all, it was a beautiful day to be on the lake.
