Fished Lower Goose on the evenings of 8/8 and 8/9. I have no idea why but this is one of my favorite seep lakes. A trophy fishery it is most certainly not but it always produce something and this time it didn't fail.
8/8: 2 of us in the boat jigging plastics from 6:30-8:30. The south end of the lake was infested with perch. You couldn't keep a line down, so we headed up to the inlet of the lake. The wife managed to out fish me again as usual. C&R a nice 16 inch bug eye and 12 inch smallie and more perch. Met some folks fishing off the ramp who had 4 nice 16-18 inch Walleye on the stringer. The were also jigging plastics.
8/9: 3 of us the boat. Perch in the south end were trying out for the new Jaws remake. They were so aggressive (and small) they were pulling our plastics into pieces....my lizard became a worm after 4 or 5 casts. C&R 1 Walleye and 1 Smallmouth mid lake. Nothing at all in the N. end of the lake. Something was weird that night and I swear, if I didn't know better, that the lake was turning over. Lots of big gas bubbles and matted algae coming up, very dirty. The night before, clear with fresh water jelly fish.
