We fished Soda on the morning of 8/9 and 8/10.
8/9: On the water around 9 am. After working a couple of shore spots with plastics, we had nothing. We headed up to the inlet canal and fished the big eddy on the left just N. the park/campground. We finally found the smallies right on the seam of the fast water and slow water. We anchored up and pitched plastics and had a good hour of C&R with 6 or 7 in the 14+ inch range. Bite died off at 11 am.
8/10: Same fish spot, same time, same plastics, nada. Looking at the water, there were a lot of dead fry around and 1.2 billion (very accurate estimate of course) of them swimming below the boat. Not sure what caused the change but I don't think we could have bought a fish that day with all that food in the water.
5 star day and 1 star day == 3 stars in my book.
