First trip to Larsen since early spring, fished from 7:30pm - 9pm.
Fished from shore & dock, nearly every cast was bobber down, kept 29 btw 7" - 11.5"
Still biting when I left, right before full moon seems to get them very active.

Hope to see loyal Larsen anglers get out there and slay them while they're active.

Good luck all, I might run into to you some day.

Google - Larsen Lake Bellevue (148th Ave SE & 8th St SE).

Crappies can be very selective with your bait & presentation, I don't want to get everybody's hope up but they can be challenging to catch if you don't have the proper set up.

I see a lot of people at various lakes keeping little ones like that. In my experience the amount of effort for the amount of dinner is not a good trade off. You clearly have more patience to pick bones out of your teeth than I do. You do have 8 or 9 nice ones there though, which is a heck of a return for 90 minutes of fishing.

Nice haul Westside! I heard that small lake produces some slabs. I agree small crappie have small boneless filets, but time and patience and all those will turn into delicious fried fare. I hit ole Cass past couple nights and caught around 20+ crappie all in the 7-8.5" range. One fish caught was almost 12" but because it was my only keeper due to size limit he went back. I may try Larsen soon myself!

Whorde: I have a bass pond at home, them little ones that you are referring to is at the top of their list on the menu! I don't share the big ones with them, they go in my belly instead! LOL

Pontooner80: Thx, there are slabs in this pond + nice LMB, might as well bring your bass gear along.

If you follow my reports, there are lakes that I exposed and others that I keep quiet - as we all know, crappies can reproduce in rapid numbers, if their population is not kept at a balanced, they can crowd the lake and size become stunt - so instead of a 12" slab, you'll end with a bunch of 4" spawners.
There's a reason why the state has a handful of lakes that they set limits on, the others that don't you are actually doing a favor by taking them out.

Nice going, unfortunately salmon season is going on, slow, but going on,...nice haul, and yes, you are right about the sizes, overpopulation will definitely cause stunted fish, need to weed them out!!
