I dont give up easily. I was out at Larsen again Sunday night. Got there 8ish if I recall, there about 90 minutes.
Spoke to a guy on the dock who said he had met a guy who fishes week days and had 10 on Thurs or Fri. I keep hearing stories like this, and going fishing and literally not even getting a bite. The guy I met did have 1 bite that I saw. He had a bobber and a jig. I had a bobber and a worm. I got zero bites.
I switched to a jig with a double tailed orange squishy thing and a bit of worm right at the last minute and went down to the corner. First cast out I got a bite immediately .... much to my surprise, not a crappie. As pictured to the right, I caught a bullhead! I didn't know they were in the lake for one, and I didn't know they came off the bottom for two. I must have landed my bait almost in its mouth as I had a bite in under 5 seconds, just as it was dark enough I could barely see the bobber.
Long story short, zero bites from crappies, failed effort. I think this makes 4 tries out of 5 no crappie, and the 1 time I got only 1. I'm giving up on worms. I'll probably give it another go or two with a jig, but my patience is about lost with this disaster of a lake.
