It could be the wrong season. It could be the wrong time of day. It could be the wrong bait. I'm really not sure, but what I am sure of is that trying to catch crappie in Larsen Lake in the morning with worms is a complete waste of time. Three and a half more hours on Saturday morning - zero fish, and in fact zero bites.

I did learn that there are crayfish in the lake though. Big ones. Apparently they climb up on shore too, as I didn't catch the one in the picture, I picked it up out of the grass.
