Sunday was a disaster. Started on south side of lake around 5:45 am, second cast snarled line, 3rd cast walk onto wet log, slip, and fall half way into lake. DO NOT WALK ON LOG if it is wet. Luckily I was far enough down the log that I did not land on protruding cut branches. The fall could have literally been lethal. I may take a saw down there and remove the protruding branches. After fishing my pole out of the lily pads, I relocated to NW corner of lake.
But the fun wasn't finished. Switched from lure to bobber with worm down about 18 inches, 1st cast in new location goes 20 feet right of where I'm aiming, directly in lily pads. Wet, injured from the fall, and pissed off, I nearly went home, but I persevered.
After that I had action on the bobber 3 times in about an hour, landed 1 crappie about 6-7 inches, threw back. Around 8 am I had another confirmed hit on the bobber, failed to set hook. Nothing for next two hours. Threw lure a bit, might have had a strike, then again could have been a weed. Finally relocated to dock for a couple of casts.
While messing around with bobber right next to dock, randomly caught pumpkinseed about 4 inches. Put worm down in lily pads, immediately caught second pumpkinseed about same length. Too bad they not big enough to eat, as they are eager for worms.
Went home around 10.
