I arrived at lake serene at noon after a medium difficulty hike up, 3.6 miles each way 2000' elevation gain/loss each way. Wasn't too steep. Immediately upon starting my hike i noticed the droves of people, i didnt think much about it then but when i arrived at the lake i found it to be VERY inconvenient/ annoying. I had to compete for places to fish with picknickers, swimmers, and degenerates and kids throwing rocks. People were littering, i noticed some people didnt pack any water or safety equipment. There were people drinking alcohol, and otherwise the lake was loud, not peaceful. I eventually went as far from the masses as i could, and finally caught 2 small rainbows, i had to traverse pricker bushes and do some rock climbing to put distance between me and them, but at that time anything i could do to avoid the masses was worth it. Lesson learned, if there are more than 10 cars parked, i wont hike, today there were roughly 100 cars in the parking lot and stretched down the road, even some on highway 2, ill probably avoid this lake altogether. There were some pretty views though.
