Good luck, Go Dawgs, and Go Hawks!
Got out to the lake by 5:00am on the water about 5:20ish... the bite was there, again I think finding the right depth long lining is an issue... picked up a downrigger, so this should not be a problem any more! Caught 3 kokes including a nice one at the end of the day, about 14". Lost 2 at the boat and also picked up a trout that had swallowed a hook, looks like someone just cut the line along with the flashers, we got tangled in the line that the trout was hooked into... crazy...
The ducks on Meridian are brave, they will eat out of your hand, they will nibble on your toes, we had a group of them following us the entire morning. Luckily for them, they were washington ducks, not oregon ones, otherwise I would've had a nice duck dinner. Was constantly worried that they would get hurt in the prop as they liked to follow right behind the boat... like they were drafting...
Had a great time, looks like I met another fellow forum member, Dawg it was nice to meet you and if I see you, I will say "hi"!
