I was going to try my hand at still fishing for kokanee on the 14th. So Sunday after work I ran around gathering all the ingredients to make my chum. Then I had to make the hooks I was going to use and load up the boat.

Alarm goes off and of course I hit snooze a few times. Then I got up and headed to the lake. I got there around 6am and was fishing by 6:30. There were 4 rigs in the lot and we were all still fishing in the same area.

It was an hour before I got my first fish. I had a few bites but never jerked on them...in my head I just said “oh that was a bite.” It never got to my arm.
I was trying out 2 different rods to see which was going to work best. So I would switch out rods. That first fish got so tangled in my line, I had to just cut the line off. So that rod just sat and I got another fish on my Eagle Claw Featherlight. I liked the first rod better so I just tossed out my Wannafish A Lure Glo hook and turned to the other rod to retie it. Looked up to see the yellow rod dancing. I hooked one without any bait on but lost it coming to the surface. "Wow, I am going to do that again." Tossed it out and hooked another that got away. Now the first hour wasn’t so fun but this was! I decided to get the other rod going because it was harder to hook them with the Featherlight.
I got 5 fish, 11-12 inches, between 7:30 and 8:30am. I was anchored in 46 feet of water. We have been in the midst of a heat wave but the clouds came in with thunder and lighting last night. Those clouds stayed until mid day.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Toni did I miss something in the regs? I don't see where chumming is permitted in clear lk.

Sorry I see it now. I wish the state was consistent in how it writes the regs. They put it in one place for American and a different place for Clear.
I have run in to the inconsistent regs in the salt too.

Now if you look at Clear REGS and then American. Clear has landlocked salmon rules but American doesn't. What does that mean?

I had a question about rock fish in the salt, the reg was written differently for area 4 from area 5. I was told by someone in the Oly office that the regs are writer by area fish managers and one may think they need to say something and the other may think it is clear without that statement.
I know you do things right and I just wasn't seeing it.
