Awesome day for some fishing. Decided to check out Meridian after reading some positive reports from djbutler. Got to the lake about 5:30am, then on the water by 6. While I was setting up, guess who pulls up, the man himself, djbutler. Nice to meet you sir. Thanks to some insider info from dj, we worked the northwest section of the lake, and that's where we got most of our strikes. I managed to get a nice fat 16" koke, and my buddy kept 3 fat 13-14"ers. Released 2 smaller ones and we each lost 2. I would have to say a pretty nice day for us, especially considering this was my first attempt at the elusive kokanee. No DR for me, so 3oz weight on a slide swivel at 28 pulls seemed to really nail them. Pink and chartreuse really worked for us, we used both wedding rings and dn spoons behind a small dodger. What really made the day a 5 for me though, was seeing what looked like George RR Martin in a drift boat nailing kokes... tell me you didn't see that too, dj. Love me some Game of Thrones, and love me some kokanee fishing.

Awesome report. How many more did you catch after I left? You guys had some fat ones in the boat. Not a bad day at all for your first attempt and I Look forward to fishing along side you gentleman again! Tight Lines!

1 more after you left, hooked another 2 of them, but lost them. Seemed the bite started to pick up again, but had to get out of there. It was pretty awesome for the first attempt, I'll be out there again.
