Tried a new lake today. Pulled the boat up to Armstrong with my adult son and 8 yr. old grandson. WSDOT had the access road closed, but had set up flagmen who directed us down a 300' section of the Centennial Trail to bypass the road repairs. Strange to be pulling a 16' boat down the trail! Got to the lake, put the Discover Pass on the mirror and backed down the VERY rough ramp to the water. Asphalt ramp is busted up and has some dropoffs to 8" or so at the water's edge.
Lake is a "No internal combustion motor" lake so it's very quiet and nice to fish. LOTS of downed timber and only a dozen or so residences with docks around the lake.
The water is stained making visibility very poor. The wind came up (of course) making fishing difficult, but managed to catch one 12" LMB on a Senko and got several other hits on Senkos and topwater frogs but they came unbuttoned.
