So I took the family camping at the TPU campground on Mayfield. I highly recommend it very nice campground and very clean. I'm Not a musky fisherman but decided to give it a try with what. Limited knowledge I have about musky fishing. Could only find one musky spinner to purchase at my local retailer so I used that and some large spinners and plugs from my bass gear. We searched a large weed flat and we saw more than a dozen musky and some monsters too suspended just above the weeds. The water was clear and calm and the sun was shining. Had a few follows but otherwise the fish were not interested in anything we had to offer. To add insult to injury a big musky kept busting the surface next to our waterfront camp after dark just teasing me. Not sure what triggers these fish but Im sure they are fun to catch. Looks like a big musky tourney this weekend too. It was exciting to see all those fish even though we could not get them to bite. Any advise is welcome we plan to return since we had such a good experience here.
