Well now the stink is off my boat....holy crap took long enough but made it happen yesterday. I arrived at 12:45 pm and got in the water and fishing right away headed right across the launch and drop the lines in the water at 35' stacked. I marked a few fish but not like normal so I headed tothe north end of the lake on the far side of silcox island. Started marking fish and wham the rod goes off pulls loose from the clip and its a heavy fish the pole is just dancing and pulling take my time and going slow and the line goes slack....gone. Oh well reset the gear and spin around and try agian no joy. Head back North agian and the rod bounces a bit.....then agian so I grab the pole and fish on but not as heavy get it to the boat and RB in the box. Reset the gear and head off to my go to spot and mark fish and wham again the pole pulls loose from the clip and its another heavy fish then it runs the other way; and back down and grabs my second line this is not going to be good but I had this happen last week and landed the fish so I take my time, I can see the fish behind the boat I slow the motor down a bit to help with the drag and starts jumping out of the water and flopping all over the place and off it went back to the deep. Had to cut both lines the quickest way to clean up that mess. I stack my lines 15' apart and at least 10' back from each other but it happens. Took a few minutes but got it all taken care of and back to fishing. Caught a few more RB and loss a few at the boat. Headed south towards the silcox and the pole starts dancing this time I grab fast and the pole just bends and I am super happy this is a koke I know that felling turned the boat in a large circle around the fish and a few minutes later seem like forever but I wanted this fish and YES!!! a koke in the boat!! Let out a few yells!! Its about time American gave up its bounty. Reset the gear and as I was doing so I pull my top line out of the clip and raise the dr line put the bottom line on and send it down grab the other pole to put it on the dr and it has a fish on it....lol. I reel it in and a nice RB so in the box it goes and home I go a happy fisherman. Tight lines everyone, if you want some RB American Lake is where you need to be. Just troll with some corn with some garlic powder and you will have your limit within a hour. I tried some garlic powder on corn just to see and holy hell the trout love it. Next time my father in-law comes I will be sure to bring some for him.
