Tough evening of fishing. Brother in law and I went out on his boat. Put in at the 9 mile resort launch and went out and down. Came back up and went towards public launch. He out caught me with 2 fish. I did catch a 10" Walleye, which surprised both of us. Has anyone ever caught an eye in Long before. I'd be interested to hear of any others experience. I caught it on a jig an grub. Overall very slow night, and we had high hopes.

I got out this morning, (Sunday) and caught one smallie on a wiggle wart. Many pike minnow below the dam. Waiting for other species to move in up there, but for now, it's kind of fun fighting off the pike minnow.

I have fished Long a bunch in the past and have never caught a walleye......very interesting.

A week ago my buddy and I were fishing the pads at the old Sportmans Paradise and I caught an 8" walleye. I was as surprised as you. They must be comeing in from Idaho.

I don't believe there are any eyes in the river above 9 mile dam and am positive there are none in Coeurd'alene

Yes I have caught Walleye in Long before. About 6 years ago I caught a 9lb Walleye qtr mile below the Little Spokane mouth in late Feb or early March. It was full of eggs. I knew a few guys that dumped them in on their drive back from Little Falls. This was Back in the 90s. Also I have a cousin that swears he gets several every year, as he targets them. I also know during shock sampling there are Channel Cats in there.
I do believe WWP planted the cats in the late 90s. I haven't figured either out.

Only walleye I know of in north Idaho are in the Clark Fork and there's not a lot of them. They are in the Spokane River heavy down at Porcupine Bay.
