Haven't done a post in awhile due to computer issues and watching our grandson's play ball! Me and the Mrs. thought we'd pick some lakes this year that we haven't fished yet, hit curlew a couple of weeks ago and Banks today. Wasn't too sure about the weather heading over but turned out to be a great day, but very windy! What beautiful lake and surrounding views! Launched at Steamboat State park around noon, headed south mainly fishing the southern part of the Devils Punch bowl. Took us a little bit to locate the bass but once we did, and established a pattern we boated about 15 fish in a few hours of fishing. We found most of them on the edges of the tall green cat tail grass, and a couple in the reed grass that is most prominent along the edges and points. Most caught on a Zoom 8" black grape lizard rigged Texas style with no weight. All went in the 2.5-3lb range with a few dink smallies and one pike minnow. I lost a huge lmb at the side of the boat that busted my 15lb power pro line! URGGG! Was great to have our younger son with us today, he finally nailed a few too!
