Finally got a chance to go hit up Pine Lake. First trip there of the season. Took the family up after breakfast. It wasn't too crowded and the weather was fantastic with a light breeze. Launched about 11am and fished until about 2pm. Trolled a variety of gear. Took about 20 minutes to get our first hit on the Barbie pole which my youngest reeled in like a champ. It was a smaller sized stocker that hit a rainbow colored SuperDuper. The "go to" Rapala got a hit right after that didn't stick. The DN 50/50 spoon was getting nothing, so switched it out to an orange flat fish and got a hit on it shortly. Things slowed down after that with an occasional hit here and there. Finally hooked a larger RB (~14") on the flatfish and continued to get a hit here and there on all the gear till we called it quits. It wasn't on fire and the fish were certainly not aggressive, but the occasional hits kept us going. Our trolling speed was betten 1 and 1.5 mph. The hits came at various locations all over the lake. I think this is the first time in history that I caught a fish and my wife didn't. She told me not to let it go to my head. LOL. Planning to take my nephews tomorrow, so hopefully the bite will pick up between now and then.
