First time fishing clear lake for smallmouth. Water temp was a consistent 65. There is a huge algea bloom mostly 0-10 feet. Found a few shallow spots without much algea and caught a few dinks. Did manage one nice one in about 5 ft. Next to a dock 3.1 on the scale. Even managed to catch a couple nice rainbows one on a dropshot and one on a Texas rigged worm of all things. Saw lots of little ones in the shallows and got lots of nibbles. Graphed a bunch of fish in 18 ft of water dropped my drops shot down and caught a better one it was late but I was thinking they may have spawned and headed out deeper to transitional spots before summer didn't have enough daylight to test the theory. Trolled around with a wedding ring too for a few so my boy could catch a few trout. Tons of fish holding at 30 ft on the graph I assume they were koaks.
