Fished eve from 5 - 8:30. Worked the lilies, structures, & brush piles. Most fish caught in the south end in less than 2 ft, bobber w/ size 6 Gamagatsu octopus hook (weightless with worm) out did the jig. Kept a dz of the 7 - 9" size and released the little ones.

Technically those are pumpkinseed sunfish and very large specimens at that. Nice haul!

Thanks! Yeah, they don't have the pumpkinseed or sunfish listed in the species category and didn't want to get into the details- I've run into these types of species quite often around the local lakes in Sno Cnty, but they sure put up a good fight on a light set up!

Yes, nice pumpkinseeds. They must be doing well in the lake now. I've fished there off and on for 50 years and still have never seen a sunfish in Cassidy, just crappie, perch, bass, trout and bullheads.

They're out there - a few other WA Lakes folks I know have reported catching them (fishingking123 & ilvcassidylake). I've seen people catching them by accident when targeting crappies using worms quite often.
