So I finally had a chance to go to Omak Lake and do some Lohatan Cutthroat fishing with the family.
I cannot believe that I waited so long to do this fishery, because let me tell you It was awesome. We got there Saturday at about 11:30 am and fished till 3:30pm landing 16 dandy fish. Did it again on Sunday morning (Today) after breakfast, we fished from 9:00am to 11:30 am and the action never slowed down. We landed 24 fish and could have landed many more but we had to be on our way home. All fish hit on spoons. Needlefish on 3" and Kingfisher lite spoons in the 4" variation. The Kingfisher "Red Racer" got the biggest fish today at around 7lbs. We fished the east side of the lake on Saturday and the south side on Sunday. The fish were pretty much everywhere. Go to depths were from 10-40 ft on the Downriggers and I tried not to go in deeper water than 120ft. We found a couple of bays where the water was only 30ft deep and the fishing was HOT. I strongly recommend this lake to anyone that loves to catch fish but not necessarily keep them. It's a blue ribbon fishery for a reason. So much fun for my sons and wife. It was great
