Nice quiet morning on the lake, i think most fishermen stayed away in anticipation of the holiday traffic. I gambled hoping for a nice morning on the lake. I was right. Very light traffic until 1030, then the pleasure craft were out and about. I was done by 1130.
I caught my first fish at 530 am at 35', then 2 more by 730 in the same area. then it was about an hour and a half no bites, i looked around for them, worked my gear, changed lures, etc. Finally put FWG Purple dodger with matching lure down a little deeper and caught 2 in a row on this, with the 2nd strike coming right after i got the line reset. I worked around a little longer, got 2 strikes on the Purple, but by the time i got the line out of the clip there was no fish, finished a short time later landing a nice 15-16' fatty. By now the lake was getting pretty buzzy, so i headed in.
