After a brutal Saturday on Wildcat Lake I decided to hit Panther Lake before having lunch on Mother's Day. Boy do I now wish it had been any other day! I dang near couldn't keep my hook in the water! I laucnhed about 08:30 and landed my first fish by 08:45. I was dragging dark (olive/black & purple/black) Mack's Smiley Blade Wooley Buggers (no pop gear or scent this time) and was getting them to tickle the line constantly! I don't think I went more than 10-15 minutes without a solid stike throughtout the day. I traveled the whole lake and the only place that wasn't on fire was right down the center from North to South, staying mainly within about 100'-150' of the shore. I took home four nice 12"-14" trout and released 15 more. Between the action, the weather, and the eagles flying (and catching fish) all day, this was easily my best day fishing to date!
