Loaded up my toon and was on the water at 6 AM, no one on the lake but a few guys fishing from shore at the park. It was the first time I was on this lake so early, so I thought I'd throw out a wedding ring (red bead silver blade 2 hook) tipped with power wigglers (I forgot my fire corn) and a pink glow hoochie to see if I could tempt a koke. I ran the WR behind a mid-size half and half gang troll and the hooch behind a 4/0 silver DN uv flasher both at about 18-20 feet. Brought in 4 rainbows by 830 AM on the WR with just as many lost. While the bows were fighting and jumping good, none of the strikes on the spinner hit like a koke. I had one hit on the hoochie and it was a good one. Pole was doing a kokanee dance but when I hit the kill switch on my trolling motor and started reeling it popped off. I switched to bass fishing the south end of the lake from 930 to 11 with no luck. I went back to the middle of the lake and trolled a mid-size copper DN spoon at about 8-10 feet and caught/released 4 more bows before I left just after noon. Wind was mild off and on throughout the morning, 6-7 boats on the lake before noon. All the fish I kept were 12".
